The Airport Corporation of Vietnam has announced that the Phu Bai International Airport in Thua Thien – Hue, Vietnam, will be closed for 8 months for reparation.
According to the announcement, Phu Bai Airport will be close from 20/3/2013 to 20/11/2012. During this time, passengers who want to approach Hue City can dock at Da Nang International Airport in the nearby Da Nang City, which is located 90 kilometers away.
The Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee has instructed the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to inform tourism companies of the plan. The provincial Department of Transportation will have to make a plan to carry passengers between Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue.

Highlights of Hue Ancient Capital in Vietnam - Hue is famous for its historic monuments, which had been recognized as one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. About 700km south from the capital of Hanoi, 1,100km north from Ho Chi Minh City, Hue is located in central Vietnam and on the bank of Huong River (Perfume River). Between 1802 and 1945, it was the imperial capital of the Nguyen dynasty.

Hue has tropical monsoon climate. From March to August is the dry season with very high temperatures of 35 - 40°C. It is truly scorching and uncomfortable. The rainy season is between August and January. A flood season is from October onwards. The average temperature during rainy season is 20°C, sometimes as low as 9°C. The spring is short and lasts from January to the end of February.
